Tennessee Has A New Law Set To Defund Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood took another hit earlier this month when State Governor Bill Haslam signed into a Law a bill that will defund the “Family Planning Health Clinic.”

The new bill will request a waiver from the Federal government in order to prevent Tennessee Care, the Tennessee Medicaid, from funding any abortion clinics.

The governor … deferred to the will of the legislature on this bill as amended, and after reviewing the bill in its final form decided to sign the bill into law,” said Jennifer Donnals, Haslam’s press secretary.

When the bill passed the state legislature back in March, Rep. Jimmy Matlock (R-Lenoir City) pointed out that the state has effectively given the abortion giant nearly $1 million in just six years.”

We have dozens of other medical clinics,” Sen. Mike Bell, the bill’s sponsor, said. “This is not a cut. It is the policy of the state to favor childbirth as an integral part of the health and the welfare of the state.”

Planned Parenthood, however, claims that none of the funding it receives is earmarked for abortions, but instead goes towards legitimate health care.” They claim that only 3% of funding goes to abortion, a debated stat.

Recall Planned Parenthood health centers saw 2.7 million patients (men and women) in 2013. If the 327,653 abortion procedures were given to individual patients, patients who received abortions would account for 12 percent of total patients….”

If that were not enough it has also been claimed that Planned Parenthood is targeting minorities. Since they only set up shop by Memphis which has over a 60% minority population and by colleges.

So not only is Planned Parenthood preying upon college youth but inner-city minorities. But I don’t hear any triggered political activists bringing this up. I guess that’s why Planned Parenthood claimed it would hurt women of color more.

This will hurt women, men, and teens in the Memphis region and have a disproportionate impact on women of color,” said Ashley Coffield, CEO of Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region. “Patients rely on Planned Parenthood health centers for providers they can access quickly who specialize in nonjudgmental reproductive health care.”

But I guess it’s ok to be a singling out minorities and naive college kids as long as you are approved by the left.
