Dr. Anthony Fauci, with no authorization from the White House coronavirus task force or the White House, planted the seeds that we need to wear more than just a mask.
ABC News chief medical correspondent, Dr. Jennifer Ashton asked if American’s will soon need to wear eye protection.
“Theoretically you should protect all of the mucosal surfaces [eyes, nose, mouth], so if you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it,” he said in an interview with ABC News on Instagram Wednesday.
Fauci recommended that wearing goggles with a face mask is the “perfect protection” because the coronavirus can enter through the eyes as well.
After making the claim he then followed up saying that wearing goggles is not “universally recommended. I would give it another week before the media is calling for a national goggles mandate.
Don’t believe me that he’s planted the seed? Listen close when you watch the video below. Fauci added that one of the reasons eyewear hasn’t been made a guideline is because “it’s so easy for people to just make a cloth mask.”
This is starting to get ridiculous, what are we supposed to do run around like bubble boy from the Seinfeld show? This is America and we have guidelines set by the CDC, it’s our choice as to the risk we expose ourselves too. If you chose to not wear a mask that’s your choice. If a person wishes to wear a mask that’s their choice as an American as well. If you are in the “at-risk” category it’s your choice to stay home or go out, it’s your life, live it as you see fit.
What Fauci just did is throw more gasoline on the fire as we go down the slippery slope of “how far can we push the American people.” His comments were just another arrow that is going to be used to divide us.
Dr. Anthony Fauci to @DrJAshton: “If you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it. It’s not universally recommended, but if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can.” https://t.co/SJPZn8fN6F pic.twitter.com/Ml87aBuclI
