Watch: Two GOP Senators Destroyed Any Hope Dems Had In Acquittal Vote

Today at 4 pm the Senate will vote to acquit President Trump from the bogus impeachment articles sent from the House. On the Senate floor Tuesday Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said:

“We must vote to reject the House’s abuse of power, vote to protect our institutions, vote to reject new precedents that would reduce the framers’ design to rubble, vote to keep factional fever from boiling over and scorching our Republic,” McConnell, R-Ky., said on the Senate floor. “I urge every one of our colleagues to cast the vote on the common good clearly required, vote to acquit the president of these charges.”

Senate Democrats were hoping that some Republicans Senators would vote to remove the President as a protest vote however two of the most liberal Republican Senators destroyed any hope they had.

Sen. Susan Collins announced she will vote to acquit President Trump. From the Senate floor Collins said:

“This decision is not about whether you like or dislike this president…Rather, it is about whether the charges meet the very high constitutional standards or treason, bribery or other high crimes.”

Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski, also said that she will vote to acquit President Trump. During her floor speech, she said, “The response to the president’s behavior is not to disenfranchise nearly 63 million Americans and remove him from the ballot. The House could have pursued censure and not immediately jumped to the remedy of last resort. The voters will pronounce a verdict in nine months and we must trust their judgment.”

Romney has not made a statement as to how he will vote on Wednesday.
