Disney is supposed to be the pinnacle of family-friendly entertainment. Most of their movies are all rated G or PG.
They don’t swear and most of their material is on the wholesome side. Their key demographic is kids and you can tell with Disney Land/World and with the costumed characters. But for some reason, they seem to have gone astray. Disney CEO Bob Iger is now trying to strongarm Georgia into getting rid of their Heartbeat law.
A law that prevents mothers from aborting after a heartbeat is present. So now Disney is all about Pro Choice /Liberal Supposed Human Rights? Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case either as they are partnered up with China.
“I rather doubt we will,” Iger said in an interview ahead of the dedication for a new “Star Wars” section at Disneyland. “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard. Right now we are watching it very carefully.”
If the law takes effect, “I don’t see how it’s practical for us to continue to shoot there,” he added.”
China is by far worse. Not only do they enforce abortions after two kids, they just straight up don’t care about human rights.
“Authorities dramatically stepped up repression and systematic abuses against the 13 million Turkic Muslims, including Uyghurs and ethnic Kazakhs, in China’s northwestern Xinjiang region. Authorities have carried out mass arbitrary detention, torture, and mistreatment of some of them in various detention facilities, and increasingly imposed pervasive controls on daily life. New regulations in Tibet now criminalize even traditional forms of social action, including community mediation by religious figures. In Hong Kong, a region promised “a high degree of autonomy” under the Sino-British Joint Declaration, the Chinese and Hong Kong governments hastened their efforts in 2018 to undermine people’s rights to free speech and political participation.
Human rights defenders continue to endure arbitrary detention, imprisonment, and enforced disappearance. The government maintains tight control over the internet, mass media, and academia.
Authorities stepped up their persecution of religious communities, including prohibitions on Islam in Xinjiang, suppression of Christians in Henan province, and increasing scrutiny of Hui Muslims in Ningxia.”
But Disney is not strongarming Georgia for some reason. Could it be because they are about to build up their Disneyland Park in China, which they are co-owners of?
Or could it be that the liberals have taken over Disney and are making Demands?
Either way, it’s sad, Disney started out here in the United States and is supposed to be all about family. But now they are proving they are all about money.
