Gun Control Activists must be cheering when they hear Californian Rep Eric Swalwell try and act tough when it comes to guns bans. Swalwell got into a heated exchange with Joe Biggs on Twitter. Biggs a conservative internet personality came to the defense of gun owners everywhere when he found out about Swalwell’s stance on gun control.
Swalwell made the following claim earlier this year:
“Swalwell proposes that the government should offer up to $1,000 for every weapon covered by a new ban, estimating that it would take $15 billion to buy back roughly 15 million weapons — and “criminally prosecute any who choose to defy [the buyback] by keeping their weapons.”
Biggs responded to Swalwell’s call for gun confiscation.
Swalwell then stepped into a hornet’s nest when he made the following claim.
“And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities.”
Biggs, of course, responded to that inciting remark questioningly because it was clearly an over the top solution to gun control.
“So our government would nuke its own country in order to take guns? Wow”
Swalwell must have realized he went too far and backpedaled.
“Joe, it’s sarcasm. He said he’s going to war with America if gun legislation was passed. I told him his government has nukes. God forbid we use sarcasm.”
Ben Shapiro caught wind of this and weighed in.
