NFL Kneelers Make One Last Attempt – Officials Declare They’re Not Going To Take It!

The NFL finally made a move to stop all of the Kneeling that has been going on since Kaepernick decided it was ok to disrespect the flag and anthem. The NFL had lost quite a few fans as they failed to do anything about this disrespectful protest. This past Wednesday after agreeing to donate 89 million to charities, the NFL decided enough was enough. They implemented a new rule that calls for all personnel on the field to stand during The National Anthem. The rule also gives players the option to stay in the locker room if they objected, but no longer would the players be kneeling on the field.

We want people to be respectful of the national anthem,” commissioner Roger Goodell said. “We want people to stand — that’s all personnel — and make sure they treat this moment in a respectful fashion. That’s something we think we owe. [But] we were also very sensitive to give players choices.”

If the players were to disobey this new rule their team will be fined.

But in light of this new policy fans of the kneeling protest came out to protest the new policy. “The NAACP, the Justice League of New York City, the National Action Network and the Women’s March” organized a protest outside of the League’s New York Office.

The protesters wore Kaepernick jerseys and chanted in protest this past Friday.

The new policy is making waves especially with the Player’s Union which was not consulted about this decision. They commented on the new policy.

The NFL chose not to consult the union in the development of this new ‘policy,'” the NFL Players Association said in a statement. “NFL players have shown their patriotism through their social activism, their community service, in support of our military and law enforcement and yes, through their protests to raise awareness about the issues they care about.”

Trump having heard the news, praised the new ruling.

Well, I think that’s good,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News. “I don’t think people should be staying in locker rooms, but still I think it’s good. You have to stand, proudly, for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there, maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.”

So after losing fans and money, they decided they better act. Their policy change seems to be more about profits loss than actual Patriotism. They have stopped the kneeling but what about other possible displays of protest? Is this too little too late for the NFL?
