The Reason This College Censored Ben Shapiro Will Make You Sick

Young Americans for Freedom, from Grand Canyon University’s chapter, were told they were not going to be allowed to host Conservative speaker, Ben Shapiro on campus.

The University claimed that Shapiro was just too ‘cut-throat’ and divisive for the school’s atmosphere. Better put, Shapiro would trigger the liberal student and staff.

“By caving to an unseen mob and ignoring the popularity of Shapiro among its student body, Grand Canyon University just played itself and deserves whatever negative response this brings,” remarked Young America’s Foundation Spokesman Spencer Brown.

“GCU has abandoned the sentiment of its own proclaimed values, deluded itself into acting like the liberal campuses it claims to differ from, and blindly accepted the Left’s ludicrous argument that Shapiro’s presence somehow damages students, campuses, or debate.”

GCU YAF also slammed the administrators’ rejection of their planned Shapiro lecture saying, “It is deeply disappointing that Grand Canyon University has disallowed Ben Shapiro from appearing on our campus—We cannot understand why our school would refuse to host someone who is a tireless advocate for traditional Judeo-Christian values. In recent semesters we’ve successfully hosted Andrew Klavan, Allie Stuckey, and Michael Knowles, all without any issues. GCU YAF will continue working with Young America’s Foundation to seek a reversal of this absurd decision.”

Shapiro has faced intolerance at campuses all across the country. When he arrived to speak at UC Berkeley in September 2017, he was met with hundreds of angry protesters. Nine people were arrested and a few of them were even brandishing weapons. Police had to wear riot gear. Thanks to all the heightened security demands, the whole affair cost $600,000.

Some of the protesters outside the venue were chanting about how Shapiro was a “fascist,” which highly amused the speaker.

“I have spent my entire career standing up to fascism,” Shapiro told his audience. “Antifa is fascist. I am not a fascist.”

At least Shapiro was allowed to show up. Months earlier Berkeley canceled an event with conservative speaker Milo Yiannopoulos, again citing security issues.

It’s sick and unconstitutional the way Conservatives are constantly silenced and censored. Especially with these colleges and through social media.
